Swipe one of your 3 paper balls through the gap between your other two. If it goes through, your turn goes on with another ball. Move your triangle up the page and score from the other half. A goal only counts if the ball went through your gap first.

First to 3 goals wins, or the most goals after 2 minutes. You have 10 seconds for each swipe (20 seconds with More time to aim in Settings).

The Rules pages show every rule with a picture. You find them on Home, in Settings and in the pause menu. In Settings you can also play the tutorial again.

Your turn ends when the ball you swiped

• misses the gap between your other two balls,
• rolls off the page,
• touches one of your own balls, or
• stops in a line with your other two balls.

It also ends when the 10 seconds for a swipe run out. The game shows the reason on the field each time.

Tap 2 players on Home. It opens after the tutorial and 3 matches against the computer. Lay the phone flat on the table between you; each player's bar faces them.

2-player matches do not change your level.

Win a match against the computer to go up one level. A draw or a loss keeps your level; it never goes down. The computer plays a little better on each level, up to level 50. New arenas, balls and titles open on the way, and you can pick any open arena on the Arena page.

The game shows a full-screen ad between matches, never during a match. The first ad comes after your 2nd match at the earliest, then at most one every 3 matches.

One purchase, the Full game, removes the ads and adds 3 more fields. You find it on Home and in Settings. It is a single purchase through the App Store or Google Play, not a subscription.

On a new phone, or after reinstalling the game, open Settings and tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with. For a refund, please use Apple's or Google's refund process; they handle the payment. If you are unsure, write to us.

Your level, what it opened and your settings are saved only on your phone. There is no account and no cloud save, so we cannot see or move your progress.

On a new phone you start again at level 1, and deleting the game deletes its progress. Your Full game purchase is not lost: restore it as described above.

Yes, in Settings: Sound, Vibration, Commentary and the Gap line (the dashed line between your other two balls) each have their own switch.

Settings also has color-blind mode, a left-hand layout, More time to aim and reduced motion. The game follows your phone's reduced motion setting too.

Gapball is in English and German. It follows your phone's language. To choose one yourself, open Settings and pick it under Language.
